Crab Porridge (Congee) Recipe

This warm and sweet Clay Pot Flower Crab Porridge after a raining night is really comforting. Using leftover rice, sweet corn and fresh flower crab, it’s so delicious and comforting. This is our family’s favorite breakfast as it’s easy to prepare as well. 

You’ll need: 

3 flower crab 

1 cups of frozen white rice

1/3 cups of sweet corn

4 large slices of ginger 

1 handful of cilantro

6 cups of water (adjust accordingly) 

Salt & pepper to taste 


1. Clean and cut each crab into 4 parts. 

2. Heat a pot of boiling water and add frozen rice and simmer under low heat around 10 minutes. 

3. Add the crab and stir continuously. It should be bubbling gently. 

4. Season with salt and pepper, cilantro and ginger. Serve immediately.
