I’ve been cooking these soft and perfect brown rice using this technique. Rumour has it that cooking brown rice on the stove is tricky but trust me it's so easy and never fails! You only need water, brown rice, extra virgin olive oil and let’s get cooking!
I love to cook a big pot of brown rice and store it inside the fridge. It’s a fantastic pairing with curry, fried rice or congee. It tastes earthy, nutty flavour and delicious on its own.
Why do I choose organic brown rice? I actually enjoy brown rice because it’s rich in dietary fibre, antioxidants and perfect for weight loss.
Ingredients
1 cup organic brown rice, well rinsed
2 cup water
½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
Steps:
Combine the rinsed rice, water and olive oil in a pot and bring it to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 min under medium heat.
Remove from the heat and let it sit, cover for 10 mins then fluff with a rice spatula. Enjoy
