Crispy Seafood Tofu Recipe

Nowadays, it’s a little hard to see this crispy seafood tofu in many Chinese restaurants or Tai Chau #大炒 eatery. I love the crispy, tender and juicy seafood tofu. It’s good for snacks or meals and super easy to make. You can make a big pan of tofu with 5 USD and easily fry them when you need them. 


Ingredients 

4 pieces Egg tofu

125g Mackerel fish paste

2 tbsp carrot shreds 

1 large egg 

2 tbsp spring onion

2 slices of ham, chopped 

1 tbsp cornstarch 

Salt & pepper to taste 

1/2 cup potato starch ( for coating) 


Steps 

1. Mix all ingredients with a mixer or by hand.

2. Line a 7-inch square pan with heat-safe plastic wrap. 

3. Pour mixture into lined pan

4. Steam on medium heat for 10minutes (over steam will cause roughness) 

5. Cool down and cut into cubes or any shape you like

6. Heat up a wok with oil, coat the tofu pieces with potato starch and deep fry until golden. 

7. Serve with Chilli sauce
